Professional Standards Manager, King County Public Health Emergency Medical Services

With 30 years of experience in EMS, Jim Duren has served as a King County paramedic, firefighter, safety officer, infection control officer, training officer, medical services officer and chief of EMS. In his current role as professional standards manager for King County EMS, Jim is responsible for overseeing training, education, regulatory and compliance, certification and recertification for all prehospital care providers in the county, as well as EMS online CE program director, BLS QA and cardiac case review.  Jim is an AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS instructor and an expert in cardiac resuscitation and high-performance CPR.
